Oh I hate to do this because I loved her book Evidence of Things Unseen...she is/was an amazingly unique voice in a cadre of writers who all seem, not after the elegant prose, but just the mighty dollar. One of my favorite authors. This one though, even though I was shocked by the lack of a real ending (having not heard about her medical issues)...just didn't hold up. A fantastic concept but maybe too BIG a concept. I wanted to have more on the internees/Schiff relationship, I certainly wanted a complete and honest fulfillment of when Schiff returns and the romance is in question..not a half conversation of one evening and no ending....not even to mention Stryker and what happened to his family...I went to bed after finishing it feeling very let down.
