The first book in the English Garden Series...Wonderful book! This is my favorite all time series. Wonderfully romantic. I could not put any book in this series down. I felt the emotion that the characters did. Lori Wick draws you into the story. Must read!!! Highly recommend anything that Lori Wick has written.

This is a wonderful book. The storyline grabs you from the first pages and I actually read it in one day due to my interest. (rare for me) The female characters are not ditsy, flimsy women which was nice. I will be reading book two in the series as soon as I can. I recommend this book as a good, faith inspiring, easy to read and relaxing book.

A moving story of Christ's love at work in the most stubborn of hearts.
William Jennings is a man who has never known the love and companionship that marriage brings- and doesn't want to. but when a relative dies, leaving Jennings three young children, his whole world is turned upside down.

Lori Wick is one of my all time favorite authors...but I was a little disappointed with this book. There were some parts where I wasn't sure what was going on. It got a little confusing at times. Still a pretty good book, just not one of my favorites.

Liked it, a nice read and alot of characters to keep track of. They get easier to know after reading the other books in the series. I will defiantly be reading more of Lori Wick books.

I don't like this series as much as others that Lori Wick has written but it's still a very good book!

I am reading this series out of context but it does not seem to matter. I have read the fourth in the series also and now I am looking for Bk 2 and Bk 3. Lori Wick is a superb author. Her books are not only intertaining, but they also are a teaching tool for Christians. The messages she passes on are valuable for everyone.

A captivating tale of Christ's love at work. When Frank and Lydia Palmer discover Lydia's brother is the guardian of three children, they're horrified because he is well-known for his tyrannical nature. William, relieved to have a male heir without having to succumb to marriage, sets about raising the boys and hires a nanny for the girl. The brothers tolerate their gruffly kind superior, until they discover the cruelty of their sister's caretaker. When the situation erupts, Jennings goes to the Palmers for guidance. While there, he meets Marianne - who turns his beliefs about women and God upside down with her gentle reasoning and Christ-honoring lifestyle.

THIS IS THE FIRST BOOK IN THE ENGLISH GARDEN SERIES. IT IS VERY GOOD. IT GETS YOU HOOKED ON THIS SERIES AND THIS "MAKE-BELIEVE" TOWN AND ITS OCCUPANTS. THIS IS THE STORY OF WILLIAM JENNINGS AND HIS FAMILY.
This is the first book in Lori Wick's The English Garden Series.
good series this book 1 of 4,they take place in london in the 1800's. They will will keep you on the edge of your seat!
Haven't read yet, but I am sure it will be a good book, Lori Wick is an awesome author!!!!!
A confirmed bachelor, William Jennings, is left to care and raise his relative's three young children. He's thrilled to have a son to carry on the family name, but doesn't know what to do with precocious Penny, a 6 year old girl who desperately needs a mother.
Into this setting enters Marianne Walker, a neighbor with intelligence and faith. As with most of her books, Marianne is preachy at times but is a decent, likable character. This book isn't as bad as some of the others in the series, but there are still better ones to read.

This was a fast read and thoroughly enjoyable! The storyline was fairly fast paced and the children had endearing qualities. Even though this is considered Christian fiction, I didn't feel as though Christianity itself was being shoved down my throat. It was more about the evolution of one man. I would recommend it to anyone wishing light reading.
I thought the book really dragged on... but it was good enough to finish:)
This is a great read. I enjoyed this series. I couldn't put the books down.
I love this series. It reminds me of Pride and Prejudice, but with religious undertones. It was fabulous, and you should read all four in the series.
There is just something I love about these series, sweet, kind, loving, faith, family and integrity!
Loved reading the whole series!!
