A perfectly delightful memoir of life with a rescued house sparrow. Through his writing, we get to know the personality and eccentricities of both the bird, B, and the author. Highly recommended!

Heartbreaking, absolutely heartbreaking: the story of a lost soul who found a reason to live in the tiny feathered creatures that so many consider expendable. Worth every second it takes to read, and then some.

While I usually love books about birds this one left me wanting. While the parts about the bird were charming, the author goes into musings about various topics every other paragraph. Personally, I found it very hard to follow. After I read a paragraph where the author was insulting one of his fellow employees I was done reading. The author went into quite a few rants about different people, then would write about the sweet sparrow, then back into his hateful rants. Frankly, when I buy a book about the "Providence of a Sparrow", I don't want to hear about the author's dislike of Christians, slow-witted people or his belly-dancing wife.
It would be enjoyable if the author would've left out his musings. After muddling through this book, I kept hoping that more about the sparrow would be said. I made it halfway through and couldn't take it anymore.
