I have read many books this past year through PBS on the topic of Jewish persecutionand about the senseless holacaust against the Jewish people and the more I read about it the more my heart is affected. I am not Jewish and I dont presume to fully understand their way of life or completely appreciate how wonderful but this book was very touching and helped me tremendously to better relate to their beliefs. I learned that not all Jewish people are servants of God but many are and many more are earnestly searching for God. This book is the story of one Jewish family as told by a daughter of this family. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to connect with truth and it will change you, guaranteed.
How we as Christians could ever say that God loves mass murderers such as Hitler, Akmadidajad and other terrorist thugs is a crime in itself. While God has set a plan of salvation, the most loving act of reconciliation known to ever exist in history, through His only son Jesus we must respect that not everyone will accept this plan and I dont think for one minute we embrace evil monsters such as Hitler as brothers in Christ, for they are not!If we say that God loves men such as these we undermine any efforts to stop future terrorists and reinforce such behaviours. We cannot and must not allow this kind of criminal activity to be condoned; while our faith obligates us to share Christ it does give us the right to condon that which God says he hates; which is the killing of innocent lives. Instead we point them to the truth, that is all we can do, and to do anything less or embrace them saying God loves them is to put a stamp of approval on terrorism. I give this book a 5. God bless the Schlamm family, and esp. Vera.
