As Texas Ranger Garrett Hancock helped Lawyer Sandy Keller in her quest to prove that the wrong man stood accused of a brutal crime, he found himself drawn to her fierce passion for justice. Good addition to the Conard County series.

This was an okay story - not as compelling a read as the earlier Conard County books. Sandy was in her late 40's so maybe that was why I didn't necessarily like her as a heroine. I couldn't get around the fact that she appeared so naive and insecure for a woman of her age and experience. I enjoyed revisiting Garrett, who was Faith's protector in "CHEROKEE THUNDER." He keeps in touch with Micah and Faith Parish and is visiting when Sandy hires him as an investigator for the defense.

This is a great series. I am rereading them from beginning to end. This one is interesting because it features an older couple. She is a strong, independent female and it is interesting to see if she can adapt after being along for a long time. It is very relevent even now. I know of many couples who find romance later in life. I would recommend starting at the beginning of the series but this can stand alone.
