This was another really good read in the Eve Duncan series, although I still find myself getting tired of Eve on occasion. I was happy to see a reappearance of Montalvo, was a little perked up by the fact that Joe Quinn grew a new backbone in this story, and was really excited by the part that Megan Blair played in the story (see PANDORA'S DAUGHTER).

I know that Eve needs to find the body of her daughter, Bonnie, for closure. I know that she's obsessed with this task. But, sometimes, you just want to smack her for letting it ruin so many other aspects of her life.

Many times throughout QUICKSAND I had to wonder what either Joe or Montalvo see in this woman -- I think she'd drive me batty. No matter what happens in the long run, though, I hope to see more of a paranormal aspect to the storyline: and it seems that there will be, what with the way the story ends.

If you're a follower of the Eve Duncan series, you'll want to read this one. It's good overall, and you can always hope that Montalvo comes to his senses and looks for a new woman to obsess over soon.

Eve Duncan is still on the search for the remains of her missing daughter but this time she has lots of help. This is a very enjoyable read and it kept me wanting to read just one more paragraph...and still not able to put it down.

Not one of Iris Johansen's better Eve Duncan stories. Kinda stretching the Bonnie story too long. Still worth reading as I'm sure there are important parts in this story that will come up again if she writes another Eve book.

Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water...not that many folks think it is safe to go into alligator infested swamps and small islands in a body of water is a safe place to be! Once again Johansen weaves in characters from earlier books--some like Kistel obviously bad and/or evil--some obviously good like Joe and Megan--and then you have that other category with Montalvo--is he good, is he bad--what measuring stick should you use? Lastly there comes the union we all new would happen but just didn't know when--what union--why of course Bonnie and X?X?X?X?X--you just have to read Quicksand to find out! bogie & tene'
