Nightmare of a book. The story was not cohesive, it was completely lost in a flurry of "poetic" phrasery (after reading this book, it's a word) perhaps I'm dim, but I was lost most of the book. This is the 20th book I've read this year, I'm an avid reader, but I found this book to cause mental discomfort.

Rain is Kirsty Gunn's first novel. It is a haunting and beautifully written story of the dangers of childhood.
