I found this book very helpful. My daughter is simply very easy to raise, then along came my son. He is definitely spirited, a term this book begins to describe as soon as you begin reading it. I have picked up so many clear and relevant tips to help me in the challenging task of raising my son. Relatives mean well, but have given poor advice so far and this book helps me to understand why. I will be sharing my highlighted sections with my husband. If your child has any of the qualities mentioned in the title and seems to march to a different drummer,read this book! It may be life-changing for you--- I know it was for me!

This is an excellent book. I am not very much into 'pop-psychology'. I am a pick and choose type of parent. This was very helpful to me for my very intense and persistent child. I am not referring to a special needs child or a child on the autism spectrum. Some kids are just "more" than others. I did not read the book cover to cover...but keep it near by for referral. I have not posted my copy....my children are still young.
Another book that I like is "how to behave so your children will too". The title makes you think it may be condescending...but it is very helpful with real life scenarios and suggestions to make things work better. This book I keep near by and just thumb it to a random page to pick up insight.

Fantastic book for learning how to deal with kids who are more curious and energetic than others. Just learning how to re-phrase the language you use to talk to or about your kids is so insightful.

One of the BEST books I have ever read about dealing with active and spirited kids. This book helped me with both of my kids who are very different in temperament. It does not talk down to you and is very encouraging.

This book helped me so much with my daughter who is now 4. Just really helped focus my attention on the good and not the bad part of her spirited personality. Really nice guide.
