Toni Mathews Mystery - Toni returns to her detective agency with a new partner, her former police officer husband, Abe....
A seemily routine missing person's case quickly drawns them unknowingly into the dangerous world of drugs, violence and murder. Even as Toni and Abe become involved in prison ministry through their church; Abe's Jewish aunt continues to struggle with the question of who Jesus really is; there is also others in the family and the circumstances surrounding the interwoven relationships soon build to a dramtic climax.

I enjoyed reading - it was also insightful and thougtful.

This is the second book in a series. I have never read the first book, but it wasn't too difficult to figure out the main events that I missed by coming into the series with the second book.

The story progressed at a good pace, but I was disappointed that the main events of the end of the book had not been developed much. Much of the story line dealt with events that were resolved early, and I felt a little surprised that the main conflict at the end was not forshadowed more. The tension was missing. There were other themes and events that were happening in the background that were really interesting that were hardly mentioned. So overall, I enjoyed the book, but I felt it was slightly disorganized.

I think Obsession is the best book in this series. Of the three books in this series I like this one the least. Just too many allusions to the married couple's sex life for me. It didn't get into details or anything, just comments alluding to what the husband wanted to do when he got home etc. When I read a Christian book I don't want my mind going in that direction. That's why I read Christian books. No I'm not a prude, but I believe that I should only think of my husband in that way and not anyone else even if they are fictional.
