One of my favorite historicals. Scarred hero with a shady past and a bluestocking heroine. Its a sweet and fun read, Amanda Quick at her best.

Hero has a terrible reputation but is really a very nice guy. He compromises heroine and does the right thing by marrying her. Heroine of course sees right through nasty reputation and manages to set things right and in the process of course heals all the scars on our hero's heart.
I love this story. I love the hero, I love the heroine, I love their interaction.

Fossil Hunter Harriet Pomeroy summoned Gideon Westbrook, Viscount St. Justin, to help her get rid of a bunch of thieves who were using her cave to store their loot. She is surprised when she meets Gideon. He was dubbed the Beast of Blackthorne Hall for his scarred face and the fact that he dumped his previous fiancee after getting her pregnant. Harriet sees a man who is physically and emotionally wounded and puts her trust in him. Soon one night's indiscretion leads to a hurried wedding and a wonderful romance.
I can't believe this book sat in my TBR pile for over 10 years. What was I waiting for? Both Harriet and Gideon are magnificent characters who were made for each other. She is a tyrannical bluestocking who is perfect to tame the Beast in Gideon. This is a fast paced story with witty dialogue and no stupid misunderstandings. My rating: 5 Stars.

I absolutely loved this book, at first I was a little hesitant because I tend to shy awy from "beauty and the beast" stories but I was instantly drawn in. The heroine is your average pretty girl and I love her emotional and intellectual depth. The hero is amazing and I love how the author really rounded out the characters. I found myself smiling when the book ended and once I started I read the book straight through. Fantastic

I loved this book from page one! Harriet and Gideon are the perfect couple. Gideon is so much a tortured hero and Harriet is completely blind to his supposed "faults" yet loves him to distraction. Terrific read! Keeper shelf material.

Although everyone else fears Gideon, known as the Beast of Blackthorne, Harriet did not. Now she needs to find a way to reach his heart.

Ravished is snappy with fun dialogue. It is a fairly light story considering the tale is about a man with a horrible facial scar and a terrible past and people refer to him as The Beast. You would expect the characters and story to be rather dark. It wasn't. I would go so far as to describe much of it as silly.
The hero was much more likeable than the heroine but she was unique and not a shrinking violet or a victim like many romance heroines.
The love story moved at a fast pace but almost seemed meandering. I struggled to find a plot for portions of the book but despite that, it all moved quickly and was a speedy entertaining read.
Quick's love scenes are fairly frequent but not particularly steamy or lengthy.
I will give Quick another try, but this book isn't a keeper for me.

Very good. Has to do with caves and the beast of Blackthorn Hall.
Reader is talented and makes the characters come alive. Harriet and Gideon are amusing protagonists. A good listen.
Another really good book from Amanda Quick. Read one and you want to read them all.
This has become one of my favorite books. The characters were fresh and vivid and the mystery underlying the plot was well presented. I especially liked the heroine, who was smart, had a career finding fossils, and maintained her independence.
Romance book. Great love story of the real Beauty and the Beast

After her unconventional engagement, Harriet, her sister and aunt leave the backwater of Upper Biddleton in search of polite polish during London's season while adventure and, inevitably, love tag along. An avid antiquities nerd with a decided predilection for moldy teeth, Harriet is a cheery, intensely likable character, one well matched by the battered and beleaguered Gideon.
