This is a cute book and it is set up so that the sentences are in different colors and the parent reads one color of words on the page and your little reader can read the other color. Plus some you both read at the same time. It is fun and gets you both in on the fun of reading. Its a New York Tiems Bestseller and it has a cute big bear on the front with a little girl reading with him.

My daughter has been reading for almost a year, and she loves this book (and the others in the series)! Each short story is typed in different colors: one for the child to read alone, one for the adult to read, and a third color indicates where the child and adult read together. The vocabulary is fairly basic, but once the child has learned to read all the words, they can they practice reading with emotion and inflection. My daughter is a very expressive reader, and I think it's due in part, to this book. Love it!

This is a fantastic and fun read when you have a child who is learning to read, and is perhaps afraid that if they show you how well they can read, you won't read to them anymore. The book starts out with a fun perspective: "Two readers reading make a game, It's twice as nice when there are two." One person reads the text on the left printed in blue, the other person reads the text on the right in dark red. I think that the spacing as well as the colored print help early readers learn to track appropriately. The stories are humorous and fun to read, with enough rhyme to keep things interesting but not so much that you want to upchuck at the cutsy-ness. I discovered that I had two copies of this book as i was straightening my son's bookshelves-- otherwise I'd never give it away.
