I've been really technical with my list so far, since those are on my shelves and I want to read more off my shelves this year.  The Dewey Decimal System  article in Wikipedia has all the breakdowns and you can google " the book title dewey decimal" and a record will come up.  Sometimes, it's even in in the front of the book, but a lot of times, it just says the Library of Congress data is available.

For example, the Dewey class for Open by Andre Agassi is 796.342092 (Athletic and outdoor sports and games for 796.  No way I want to breakdown the rest of those numbers.

Learning a lot about the system with this challenge. But, I will probably get more general as the year goes on.
