I don't always care for cozy mysteries however, I found this one to be delightful!
It was an interesting plot and characters that I found myself intrigued with. This book was one that held my attention to the end and was hard to put down. I do hope Lisa Harris writes more cozy mysteries if she can keep up the depth and enjoyability this one had.

I truly loved this book and look forward to more. A great cozy, no foul words or sexual overtones. Right up my alley. Great, friendly characters, easy to like and want to get to know better. Not afraid to make Biblical references. Keep them coming.

If I had noticed that this was a Christian mystery novel, I never would have requested it in the first place. But, as it stands, I didn't notice it and it's a shame. I don't mind a little bit of religion in novels, but I need for it to be VERY subtle. However, in this case, the author even mentions in her blurb that she sees writing as an extension of her ministry. For me, that is NOT a good thing. It was far too preachy for me and I just did not like the book. If you enjoy mysteries with a Christian theme, then you will likely love this book. If you don't enjoy that, then just steer clear and save yourself the trouble. I wish I hadn't read it. I hate leaving such a negative review for a book, but it can't be helped in this case. Sorry!

I really enjoyed this book! I found the characters very interesting.
I liked how Max helps Pricilla figure out the clues in this mystery,... and how romance is starting to bloom in their families!

Mrs. Crumb is a 64 yr old chef who is working at her son's logde. While preparing dinner one night, a scream is heard throughout the house. A guest has been found dead by the fireplace with a plate of Mrs. Crumb's tartlets scattered around him. Fearing that her food may have been the cause of the untimely death, she decides to try her hand at detective work to find the cause. Along with her friend Max, she finds herself in all sorts of situations.
I thought this was a good quick read. It also has a bonus in the back. A recipe for Mrs. Crumb's Lemon Crumble Cake!!!!!!!

I, to, found it disturbing that there was no indication in the description that this was a Christian oriented book. It was just not what I expected, and so I was annoyed at wasting a credit. I read it anyway. Should have trusted my instincts and just sucked it up and moved it on. It was relatively short, which means there was not much time for the development of the plot OR the romance. The setting was supposed to be in Colorado. As a Colorado native I don't think she quite caught the essence of it.

The religion seemed inserted, instead of a natural part of the story. At any rate, the book wasn't bad as much as it was just slightly misrepresented by the publisher. The description here also needs to be upgraded to more accurately reflect the contents.
