This was a selection for my book club and I went into it with zero expectations, which was probably good. It was a fast easy read. The story moved along quickly and it kept me hooked, wondering what would happen next but in general I didn't like it. I didn't find any of the characters likable and I didn't really care what happened to them. In the end, no one seemed to suffer the repercussions of their actions. I'd recommend it if you like a quick mystery but not if you're looking for a deep story or well written novel.
Man high school girls can be downright mean. If you think that kids need freedom and privacy, read this and then rethink that. Some characters in the book I wanted to beat the living daylights out of. Others I wanted to shake some sense into.
This is a very emotional, heart wrenching story and I couldn't put it down. I didn't want to read it because I didn't like the storyline, but am glad I did. It was unforgettable. Highly recommended.
I really enjoyed this book, it was a light easy read and moved quickly. Being the mother of an only child I felt deeply for Kate, loosing your only child is my biggest fear and I can understand her need to know what really happened to her daughter. This book captures the common theme of how hard it is for a teenage girl to fit in, paired with the age of technology for a new twist. I really liked how the author presented the face book posts, texts and other social media, it was very effective. I did feel the end of the book wrapped up a little too quickly, almost like Kimberly McCreight was given 380 pages to fill and rushed the ending to fit in her allotment.

I really liked this book. Even when I thought I knew how it would end, I kept reading to see if I was right. God book!
