The first story was really awful, I thought. Use of period-appropriate (I ssume) language does not make up for a lack of plot.

The rest of the stories were pretty decent- I enjoyed them.

Four stories from four very different authors. The stories were sooo eclectic & disparate that you are bound to disappoint someone. There was only one story that I considered mediocre; the rest were awful. Whoever put this mishmash together should get a new job.
