First hailed as a hero for his dramatic water rescue, thirteen year old Brady Parks, son of a Chesapeake Bay waterman, soon makes a startling discovery that puts him at the heart of an enourmous tragedy. Alone with his dark secret, Brady is ultimately forced to choose between loyalty to his lifelong friends and doing what he knows in his heart is right.
Priscilla Cummings weaves a suspensful, multilayerd tale of three teenage boys caught in a wicked web of their own making.

My 10 year old raved about this book so I picked it up and read it in an afternoon. Easy to read, interesting story. Good for teaching pre-teens/teens about consequences and taking responsibility.

This book really makes you think about choosing between loyalty to friends and doing what is right. The main character's inner struggle is believable, and it is an easy read, even for reluctant readers.
