Was interesting to see Barak's sister as the heroine in this book. The descriptions of the "other" world and the people there did not match my expectations - the world did not seem as cold, people's hearing and vision did not seem particularly enhanced. The other members of Lusahn's household seemed contrived and existed in a state of almost criminal inattention. The author is taking the series to conclusion at a snail's pace - I hate meeting new possible characters for future books as it looks like the series will draw out with repetition of predictable plotlines in an endless series... reminds me of the Carpathian series which had a good start and then got run into the ground with indistinguishable angst ridden couples with similar problems. There was no doubt that this book would have a happy ending, and happy couples from previous books are lingering and interfering with the suspense.

I liked the story in this one and it was fun to visit the other side, but I was a bit disappointed in the way that the mystery was resolved. I hate giving spoilers, so I will just say that I was looking forward to the resolution and after finishing the book, I feel cheated.
