This was the first book I read by this author and it was awesome. I liked this book best of all the ones i have read by her. Having lived in lancaster county and not being amish i thought she did a wonderful job in making you see things from both points of view. if you have never read a book by beverly lewis this is one of her best and you will want to read more from her.

This was the first book of the this type and by this author that I've read and I enjoyed it. I thought Sarah and Brian's relationship was a bit far-fetched and hokey, but I loved the descriptions of Amish life and culture.

This is such a good book! I love Christian fiction, and this is a great one. The story is so moving, but you just never can figure out how it will end. A great read!

I definately enjoyed the book better than the movie. Just a side note the book October Song by Beverly Lewis has a bit of a continuation on the characters in this book.

This is a good book about the Amish community. Lydia Cottrell, eldest of five amish orphans, made a promise to her dying mother to keep the family together. She soon learns that the guardianship is granted to her Aunt Sarah who is not amish and not even a christian.

The difference between this book {the movie edition} and the regular paperback is that this book has a letter from Beverly Lewis and pages of color pictures from the movie, which is nice to read and see. This is a beautiful story and one you have to read if you are a Ms. Lewis fan. Excellent read.

This is a sweet loving story. I love stories involving children and these are sweet loving Amish children whose mother, on her dying bed, wishes for her younger sister, who is not Amish, to come and take care of her children.
She does not want the five children to be separated. Sarah cannot understand why her older sister would want her as she had nothing nice to say about her while growing up. You will love this book as much as I did.
