Redwall - Redwall, Book 1
Author: Brian Jacques
The question in this first volume is resoundingly clear: What can the peace-loving mice of Redwall Abbey do to defend themselves against Cluny the Scourge and his battle-seasoned army of rats? Even though I am not a child (41) I really loved this book. It may have been writen for children, but it really grabs you and you are hooked.

This an excellent and highly entertaining tale that resembles, in spirit, some of the great questing books in terms of readability and entertainment value. If you have finished the Potter series, as it currently stands, then this is a great book to read next.

This is a wonderful story for all ages, a classic of fantasy and children's literature. It will go on the shelf with The Hobbit, the Prydain Chronicles and other books I want to share with my son when he is old enough. One problem with this edition though, the description said there would be seven full color illustrations, and the book I received has no such illustrations, just the same b&w ones that have been in every edition since 1986. Since part of the appeal of the large sized edition is the full color pictures, I'm a little disappointed.
