Classic Christmas novellas by authors who are not amateurs at the art of writing prose. (Many current authors are so clumsy and dumbed-down that they make my teeth ache.) Great period ambiance, engaging stories, graceful writing.
The entire Signet regency anthology series was of terrific quality and they are all worth seeking out. Many of these authors regained the rights to these stories and have published them on ebook in their own collections, but I like the originals. Every year I looked forward to November when there would be a new Christmas anthology. I like the variety and the Christmasy package, but above all, I like the writing!
