The second book with an albino hero that I've read this year! It felt very much like Beauty and the Beast with a forced marriage involved; he kept to the shadows because he thought he was a freak, she was very kind and quick to see his inward and outward beauty. His remaining relative was a manipulative and evil man, jealous and intent on spreading awful rumors about the Ghost Duke to keep him isolated. I was enjoying the story up until the weird twist in the plot involving the kidnapped maid; that felt thrown in, far-fetched, and soured things up for me. 3.5 stars.
