Ruby Jordan, a modern businesswoman, needs a miracle to save her longtime marriage. But she didn't expect to travel back in time to medieval Britain as a cure for her broken life.

Thork Haraldsson is a tenth century Jomsviking warrior embittered by his harsh life. What he doesn't need is a pesky woman claiming to be his wife...one thousand years in the future.

The book begins in 1994 when Ruby's husband Jack walks out of her. Depressed she picks up a self help tape her husband has left and begins to cry then as she is listening she finds herself transported back a thousand years to 994. She sees a Viking, Thork, who bears a stiking resemblence to her husband JAck. She finds herself accused of being a SPY. She tries to convince him she is his wife but he merely laughs at her attempts but there is definately an attraction between them.
As she survives in the life of a viking woman she finds life is not as she would have imagined and is given insight into her troubled marriage back in her own time.
The beginning was a bit slow but was interesting enough to keep you reading. It is a while before Thork and Ruby are able to align themselves with one another and then when they finally do, tragedy stikes and threatens to tear it all apart.

Wonderfully entertaining time travel story. The characters are very well fleshed out and bigger than life. The romance is exhilarating and heartbreaking. I shed tears and wished it would never end. Hill's world building comes alive and she excels at accuracy.

Thork was a reluctant Viking.
Ruby was determined to melt his reluctant heart.

Was it a dream?
Or did Ruby's dream come true?

This was a GREAT book, and the only reason I took off one star was it was sad...it was good but at the end you as the reader have to make a decision on which main male character you like more. And it's just...well, it's sad. But at times very funny and I look forward to reading the next.

I haven't read a lot of time travel books. This one was a total surprise for me. I intend to read more of Ms. Hills books after this.
