I was initially put off by this book...the characters were all unlikable and it was hard to feel any sympathy for their problems...but the farther I got and the more I was drawn into it, the more fascinating it became.

In fact, it built in momentum like a good novel is supposed to. By the end I was very invested in the story and the characters. I expected it to be a *blah* story at the beginning, but was surprised to find that I really liked it.

Stick with it if you're tempted to walk away. It really gets good.
