The sound of his first cry, filled the earth with joy
The rocks and rivers and trees all together rejoiced
The people all around did not understand the signifigance
Of the little baby, thier newborn redeemer and prince

They didn't give him a place to rest, or any food to eat
They only gave him a stable and manger in which to sleep
They didnt bring him jewels, though the three wise kings did come
But what about the inkeeper? Did he know this was God's son?

And all those who went in and out of Joshep's store
Did they realize this boy with him was worth much more
Than just a simple wave and "good-day"
Did they realize he was the one who them would save?

And when he grew up and began to preach His Father's words
How many of them listened? How many truley heard?
And when he was hung upon that sinful, bleading tree
How many realized who he was? How many knew he was setting them free?

And when the sky was dark, and when the earth trembled
And when the curtain was torn in two in the temple
How many cried out, How many gave him the glory due
Did they, would I have? What about you?

These people lived blind to this resplendent king
Who came to give his life, his everything
But will we to pretend that he doesnt exist
As Christmas time nears will we try to resist?

Or will we feed him, house him, praise him?
Will we remember His Holy birth?
Will we honor him during this wonderous time?
Will we give him all that he is worth?

I saw a slide show of photographs on flickr that my mum sent. As I watched it I was amazed at the photographer's angle and insights yet more amazed at how wonderfully God has made all things. The snake's skin, the close up of the butterfly and how intricately all things are made. Truly a creator greater than us is behind it all because we do not have the capabilities to create such beings. The wonder of it all...How could anyone not believe that a greater power exists when evidence is all around us. Your poem just puts flesh on the power source. Thanks
