Golly, fifty-five years later, we're informed that To Kill a Mockingbird was not the only book Harper Lee wrote! And all we can do is wait for July 14 for the release of the book sequestered all those years with other papers in the care of the author's sister. Some literary trivia: The book (published in 1960) was set in Maycomb, Alabama. Harper Lee's hometown of Monroeville was declared "Literary Capital of Alabama" by the state legislature. The full name of the book's narrator is Jean Louise Finch. The real first name of Atticus Finch's neighbor, Boo Radley, was Arthur. The famous quote is "Mockingbirds don't do one thing but make music for us to enjoy." Last Edited on: 2/5/15 12:30 PM ET - Total times edited: 2 |

This is very exciting. I can't wait to read it.
PSST. The news of Harper Lee's death has been greatly exaggerated. |

I just hope it's a worthy book, and that Lee hadn't kept it from being published because she didn't feel it was. Rose |
