Its hero is a man very familiar to Clancy's readers. His code name is Mr. Clark. And his work for the CIA is brilliant, cold-blooded and efficient...But who is he really? In a harrowing tour de force, Tom Clancy shows how an ordinary man named John Kelly crossed the lines of justice and morality to become the CIA legencd, Mr. Clark. It is an unforgettable journey into the heart of darkness. Without mercy. Without guilt. Without remorse.

If I had to pick one Clancy book to have with me on a desert island, this would be it. It also explains so much about Jack Ryan it is a must read. It is one if those books that addresses "revenge" vigilante sitations in which the perfectly trained navy seal avenges the death of a young woman by quietly killing off those responsible for the kidnapping and murder of her and her freinds. It just makes you want to stand up and cheer even though you know in your heart what is happening is illegal. Of course in a real world our hero would have to pay for the right (opps I mean wrong) that he did. But a deal is swung and...well you'll have to read the book for the ending. It is worth the time.
clancy at his best with Mr.Clark/john kelly
Quite good. My favorite Clancy!
Of all of Clancys books, this is the one that should've been made into a big screen movie. A great read. The main character (Mr. Clark)reminds one of Lee Childs' Jack Reacher character or F. Paul Wilsons Repairman Jack.
Yet another great book in the series.
This was my first Tom Clancy book and I really enjoyed it. I plan on reading all of his books in the future. The subject matter might be a little strong for some readers but I enjoyed it.
This was a great read. I thought I was just starting the Jack Ryan series because another source placed it at the top of the list as Book 1; what is it, Book 1 or Book 8 - very confusing?
Book is in good condition but does not have the paper cover sheet
