It got tiring after a while, all the bad things that kept happening. And that's just in book two. Imagine 11 more books like it.

Wonderful series. It may be more appropriate for older children (middle school age) and young adults than for elementary school age children, as it is rather a dark series. I found it quite humorous.

Another good installment in the Series of Unfortunate Events. There are some shockingly violent references, so maybe not for grade school kids, but well written and an interesting story.

This is another great volume in a series of unfortunate events. My daughter, age 7, and I loved it. One of the kinder volumes in the series.

My granddaughter is into this series and loved this book. In fact, she keeps coming back to it. The story line, for me, is depressing but she just giggles and laughs through it. I am a little put off by the story line, but I could get used to it and think this is a very good set of books to show readers how it really can be worse for the other guy in life.

Loved the book. Used it in my classroom for book clubs for both 4th graders and 6th graders and both age groups really enjoyed the book. Especially the boys!!!!!
