I really enjoyed this fast paced, very serious book about loss and revenge. It is raw and real in its emotion, it doesn't take a whole lot of time getting to know people, the emotion is just so real that the characters are simply vessels for the emotion that the author wishes to share. It is very much worth reading. Although the book is a quick read the material will remain long after the book is put away.

This book is in its best form, shattering, you can literally place yourself in the place that these characters are in. It also has incredible emotion and pain about one child and an event that changes 2 couples and families in a beautiful way. Through great pain everyone heals.. I would suggest this book to everyone. I read it in one day I was so involved..

Comment: * *. A family man stops at a gas station only to see his son killed in a hit-and-run. What follows is a lot ... a lot ... of pondering and moping. He ponders and mopes so do the wife, the remaining daughter, the killer, the killer's wife, and the killer's son. I was waiting for the pet dog to do the same so I could throw the book out the window.

What makes the novel even weaker is the "coincidence" that is presented midway. Then, it's not a question of "how will it end?" but "how quickly ... pleaaase!" as you rush by the unnecessary mind thoughts that add absolutely nothing to the plot. Do not make any reservations for this book.

I enjoyed this book. The author does a wonderful job catching the personality and depth of each character. I especially like the chapters written as if each character were telling the story. Great read.

A family struggles to accept and heal after losing a child to a hit-and-run driver, while the driver struggles with demons of his own, ultimately realizing that not getting caught isn't the same as being free.

I loved this book. It's about a hit and run accident and the family of the boy as well as the person who hit him. I had the feeling that I was able to get into the characters "heads". I enjoy a good character study.

Great book! For one, I'm a big fan of stories told from different points of view...here-- two being the victim's parents and the other being the hit-and-run driver. It was a great way to see how they each handled this tragedy. I now want to see the movie!

Very much enjoyed this book. I can actually seeing this child being hit by a car the way it happened in this book. The author has written so that you can feel sorrow for the family of the child, but you will also feel sorrow for the person who hit and killed the child. One emotion on different levels for two different people. Amazing read.

Very good novel. Story of a family dealing with the death of a son and of the man who accidently killed the boy,
