I liked this second book in the series better than the first. I still prefer his candlemaking series, though.

Alex is allowing a craft fair to be held on the grounds of his inn and one of the crafters - a blacksmith is impaled with a rod that appeared to have been made by a rival. The small town sheriff bumbles about suspecting that rival, but the blacksmith had a lot of enemies. As usual Alex is drawn into investigating things for himself.
These books are short, fast, cozy reads and I've enjoyed every Myers book I've read, this innkeeping series and his other craft series.
