This was great! Great characters that I cared about, riveting mystery; the reader one of the best I've yet heard. I could hardly wait for my morning drive to hear the next chapter. Highly recommended if you like an exciting, puzzling story.

This was my first murder mystery-type book, and WOW! It kept me on the edge of my seat. I listened to it on audio, and it was so good that I had to order the next book this author wrote, LAST WITNESS. Really great book! I will say that there is some really strong language in it.

I LOVED this book!!!! The characters were great. The descriptions of the attacks were brutal and it kept me guessing until the very end. Excellent!

This kept me on the edge of my seat. It was the old tale between doing what's right and ethical and getting revenge for wrongs.

At the heart of "Retribution" is C.J. Townsend, a brilliant prosecutor in Miami, well-known for keeping her cool while trying even the most horrific cases. The latest suspect is as base as they come; a vicious killer who savors cruelty and considers murder an art. Amid a maelstrom of media attention, C.J. has just begun to build her case when she is struck with a shattering personal blow connected to her past. Now everything will ride on her ability to hold herself together long enough to put the accused away forever.

Fast moving and suspenseful with a satisfying conclusion. Likeable characters for the most part except the villian ( of course ). Spunky lady cop with sexy partner.
I liked Martha Plimpton's reading of the book. It was a good story, but a little short.

Well, I read all those positive reviews, but nothing can overcome my skepticism at the logic of the protagonist prosecuting attorney going forward with a clear conflict of interest, ostensibly because she was the only one who knew about the conflict, all afraid that the rapist-murderer would get off because someone else trying it would f**k it up.
The problem is that the rapist made a study of all his victims and HE knew about the conflict. which he would probably use in his defense.
This author needs a good editor to notice things like that!
