I truly enjoy how an alpha hero's protective instincts kick into high gear when a heroine is in a dangerous situation. Shannon had a nice balance of vulnerability and independence while Patrick was a swoon-worthy, take-charge and not-too-arrogant type of guy. Good story with a menacing abusive ex-husband thrown in. 4 stars.
Contemporary Romantic suspence from Samhain Publishing. Third in the Jamesville series featuring Dani's brother Patrick. Patrick has been working as a New York City police officer. He returns home to recuperate, after a shooting, in which is partner was killed. Patrick's only goal was to get better, and go back to New York, until he sees Shannon. Shannon is in Jamesville, recuperating too, but not just from physical injuries. And her tormenter isn't finished with her... Good book. Characters are likeable, and the sex scenes steamy.
