As usual, a very, very good book written by one of my favorite authors. Mr Merullo's variety of story lines never ceases to amaze me, impress me. The Return is the sequel to Revere Beach Boulevard, as you probably know, a story of the hardworking, family-loving Italian immigrants contrasted against the stereotypical dark-hearted goombas. A book of people seeking, striving, loving, and making wrong choices. Always wrong choices. The writing is perfect, but it is the conclusion that brings the ache to the chest and lump to the throat, that begs for more, still.
