I didn't really care for this book. The father, who got "jailhouse religion" was repulsive to me. He did not love his wife at the beginning of the book and that remained unchanged at the end of the book. He was a womanizer and a drunk before going to prison and salvation didn't seem to make a new creature of him to me. Yes he quit his drinking, but he hadn't been back home very long before he took up with another woman who was the mother of his daughter's best friend. His tryst to the graveyard behind the church to make out with her really put me off. His sensual side definitely had the upper hand over his spiritual side.

I loved this series so much that I have started ordering any Ann Tatlock book that I can. I am sending them all along to my sister, who, after reading them will put them back into paper back swap, I'm sure (if not passing them along to friends). Ann Tatlock is a writer that keeps you so into the book that you are reading that it is hard to put them down!
