If you've never read Bentley Little before and new to macabre genre (horrific and gruesome), then you're in for a ride! In this tale, a sleepy town is shaken up by churches being desecrated and little demons killing people. Toss in zombie babies and a creepy rogue pastor. As with most Bentley Little novels, this one ends with a big bloody showdown. A quick and easy read.

Don't read this with the lights off!! It is about strange things going on in a small town in Arizona. Bentley Little did a terrific job of terror with this one!

Supposedly this was Little's first book. It won the Bram Stoker award for best first novel. For a first novel, I would have to say it was very good. It has some pretty creepy parts to it. Some gore included. This is only the 2nd Little novel I've read. I enjoyed this one better than the first one called The Walk.
It's about a small town in Arizona called Randall. It's the typical small town. Quiet, not much going on then all hell breaks loose. In comes a creepy preacher who wants the people to follow him. Do they follow this preacher who has these eerie black eyes that tells of an evil there to destroy the town? Or is he the one that is the evil? Or is it just a cult causing problems.
The story kept me somewhat guessing until the end. I had my doubts of what was really happening, had many parts where I couldn't put the book down and enjoyed most of the characters. I never really got scared but definitely was creeped out at times. Look forward to reading more by Little.

My first read by Bentley Little - it will not be my last! While the book is in no way "deep" reading, it is pure horror-fun. I brought it on a flight with me and it was able to keep me distracted the entire time (a daunting task!)

This was probably my favorite Bentley Little book so far. If you love zombies and you love babies, how could you not love a demented story about zombie babies. It was really a freaky book.

Good horror story, just enough gore but not too much, just enough romance really very little, a little bad language but not too much, creepy all the way through!

If you like weird creepy reading this is the one for you. I had a hard time putting this down but I like horror books that are "different". I liked the fact that there were a lot of interesting characters in the book and what happened to each character was talked about in depth. Good book!

I was introduced to Bentley Little by a fellow bibliophile that knew how much I loved a good horror story. She told me that Little would give Stephen King nightmares.

I don't know if that's true... but Bentley Little does give me nightmares. I never thought I'd find myself saying that a book was too gruesome or too frightening.... but those are the words I'd choose when describing "The Revelation." And frankly, the other three Little novels I read this year, all of which are currently listed on PaperbackSwap.com because they make my bookshelf feel dirty.

Without giving much of anything away, I can tell you that this particular award-winning novel includes reanimated dead zombie babies, desecrated churches and other little surprises too gross to actually write about here. It takes a lot to disgust me, but this book did it. If you are truly a hard-core horror lover, this book is for you. Little is masterful when it comes to scaring readers and grossing them out. The writing is good. But I guess I'm too old for this kind of storytelling anymore. I actually felt relieved when I could close this book for good and put it away, and that's not how I like to end a story. Read at your own risk.

I enjoyed this, but I felt that the resolution was rather quick and that the "bad guys" weren't particularly terrifying. Still, it was a fun read that built upon itself rather well.
