I really liked this! Beverly had a lot to overcome, and it was really admirable that she actually managed to do so. Honestly I don't think very many people in the same situation would do as well. I'd love to know how Jason is now, and how he felt about growing up with his mother. This was an easy and enjoyable read, which I found pretty absorbing. A book about someone having a hard time in life could have been a lot more grim, but it's not--and she has a nice writing style.
And now I know why I've seen other reviewers say that the book was nothing like the movie. From the previews I've seen, the movie is made out to be a light-hearted comedy/romance. This book was more about Beverly's personal journey and her relationship with her parents and her son--the "boys" who made the title aren't especially main characters here.
