This is a charmingly told Isabel Dalhousie story. I'm more familiar with Alexander McCall Smith's No.1 Ladies'Dectective Agency novels. I plan to read the other two in the Isabel Dalhousie series.

Enjoyable read.
I like this Isabel Dalhousie series. The characters are well fleshed out and the philosophical musings are significant. The author's love of Edinburgh has inspired me to spend some time in that city.
Isabel Dalhousie is who I would be if I didn't like being myself so much. She's bright and witty, inquisitive and sensitive, and she's in love with a much younger man (who loves her, too). From the same writer as The Number One Ladies Detective Agency, but I like Isabel better.
One of my favroite authors and an excellent book.

This is the third delightful installment in the Isabel Dalhousie series and I am always glad to return to Edinburgh and its quirky characters. Isabels cousin and husband visit from Dallas and introduce Isabel to a wealthy Texan who is newly engaged. There is something not quite right about this relationship and Isabel is trying to restrain herself from getting involved. Cat, of course, has a new boyfriend with a new set of problems to deal with and Isabel has her own drama in her life. This is a fun, engaging read about an interesting group of characters in Isabels life.

Isabel has a friend visit from Texas plus Jamie and her niece Cat are principals in the story which is interesting as always with brother Fox having a view of things too in Edinburgh.
