I first read this romantic suspense novel (by one of my favorite fantasy writers) in the 1980's and my friends and I deemed it one of the best ever. I remembered it so fondly that after I joined PBS, I put it on my Wish List immediately. It's still a great story but I'd forgotten so much - and mostly the stuff that's now so dated as to be comical (men wearing white bellbottoms, the dangers of "marihuana") and there's an awful lot of non-PC stuff that might put you off. If you can accept this for a romance written in the 70's, then you'll find a story set in the world of horses that's full of very memorable characters, both human and animal (and you'll love them both).
