Excellent Niven, but really requires an expert memory of the whole Ringworld saga.

The Ringworld series starts strong, but each succeeding volume becomes more and more inaccessible. By the last volume it is more a fantasy than science fiction. Read this if you want to complete the series, but if you are not already familiar with the story and characters, forget it.
