His plots always involve a bit of humor, but this one goes beyond the usual. Enjoyed the change...
Not your typical Ludlum, but a great read!
A very different kind of Ludlum that combines his usual fast paced suspense with laugh out loud comedy that I found surprisingly enjoyable. The story revolves around a plot by a rogue American general, his four ex-wives & a sharp army lawyer to kidnap the pope and hold him for a huge ransom, only to find the pope wants in on the deal.
Wickedly funny departure from Ludlum,s other works.
Ludlum is funny and suspensfull.
Early Ludlum. Who knew Ludlum wrote comedy/suspence? There are actually some laugh out loud incidents.
Gandolfo is to the Pope as Camp David is to the President.
Gandolfo is to the Pope as Camp David is to the President.
Hysterically funny!!! Typical Ludlum with a twist which will have you giggling as you chew your fingernails waiting for the shoe to drop!!
One of my favorite Authors, a quick read with mirth and suspense
Very funny, tongue-in-cheek tale about the Pope's retreat in Gandolfo.
This book was hilarious! I had read Robert Ludlum years ago and found his books to be amazingly interesting and complex, revealing an intimate knowleldge of how governments and their agencies worked with a level of understanding that I have never found in another writer. But THIS BOOK? He took everything he knew about all of the above and wrote the funniest satire I have ever read.
It's robert what more can you say! Love the older books
A good Robert Ludlum, lots of humor and characters are easy to identify with.
from the back cover:
A wickedly funny Robert Ludlum you've never met before. All the verve of THE CHANCELLOR MANUSCRIPT, the serpentine plotting of THE MATARESE CIRCLE, the explosive pace of THE BOURNE IDENTITY.
