The best part about reading this book is now that it is outdated, the prices quoted are unreal!! Anyway, if you like to read resturant reviews in your local dining guide, you will love this cross country story of many a home cookin' diner, and the colorful characters that work in them. It's worthwile, and one of several from the Stern's.
