Amelia and Adam Wright win a weekend away to Scotland. They are hoping that things will get better with their marriage. One of them knows that they didn't randomly win this trip. Someone doesn't want them to live happily ever after. Both of them have secrets and one of them will not be going home. This is the 2nd book by Alice Feeney that I have read. She is the queen of twists and this one does not disappoint. I found Amelia and Adam not very likable. The ending was a complete surprise to me. I now feel as though I need to read Feeney's other books. If you like domestic thrillers, then you will like this book. I found it very unpredictable.

Meh... That is all I can think when describing this book. This is the 2nd Feeney story I've read. I really liked the first one (His & Hers) but this one was just okay for me. The biggest issue I had was the characters. It was hard for me to like them. They seemed so whiny and self-absorbed. The endless chapters of them complaining about each other started to wear on me. Once we got to the cabin, it got a bit spooky which was nice. The twist at the end was unexpected. Even though the twist was interesting, it was also a bit over the top for me. All in all, it was an okay read that had me sticking with it until the end.

Alice Feeney has written a darn scary book. You will stay up late (just make sure the doors are locked) to finish this dark and twisted story. Plenty of twists and turns, with plenty of surprises to keep you guessing. Adam and Amelia are stuck in an old and very creepy 'chapel' in Scotland, on a holiday to try and save their marriage. That's not the only thing that needs saving.

I really enjoyed this! It was not at all what I expected. I found it to be compelling, spooky, surprising and twisty. The narration was quite good, too.
