The information in this book is presented as a story therfore the readers are learning facts about rocks and minerals as they follow the school children in their adventure. The only note of warning is to those who are not evolutionists. This books contains references to "milllions and billions of years." This book does not contain as many pictures as do many of the previous books. The pictures are not in color so beginning readers would have more difficulty following the story.
