Rennie Dennehy met Jarret Sullivan when he was in New York City hunting down a killer. Jarret's job was to keep Rennie away from the killer's target and out of trouble. Easier said than done. The two clashed at every turn, especially when Jarret was responsible for stopping her wedding to Hollis Banks.

Now, a year later, Rennie's father is missing and presumed dead. Refusing to believe it, she heads to Colorado to find him. She tracks down Jarret to help with the search. Right away the two strike sparks off of each other.

This is the second book in the Dennehy sister's series. The first third of the book starts out in NYC and rehashes some of the scenes from the first book, but from a different point of view. Rennie was a little hard for me to take, always jumping into the thick of things without thinking it through. I finally started liking her in the middle of the book. The last section of the story had some real twists that I didn't see coming. I was very surprised by a couple of them. My rating: 4 Stars.

One of the most pleasant surprises was the fact that Rennie and her identical twin were gifted in different spheres. Michael Dennehy (known as Michael) was a reporter at the New York Chronicle; her story is told in MORE THAN A TOUCH (alternate title: WILD SWEET ECSTASY). Rennie is a construction engineer for the railroads. Both women experience prejudice against their gender in the workplace.

The story opens with everyone getting ready for Rennies wedding to one of her co-workers, vice president Hollis Banks. Although not a love match, Rennie is practical and sees this as a way to be accepted as a contributing member of the staff and to exert more control in the company.

Rennies father, Jay Mac offers $10,000 to stop the wedding. Jerret Sullivan takes him up on the offer. At the same time, 2 miscreants from MORE THAN A TOUCH (alternate title: WILD SWEET ECSTASY) are trying to kill Michael. Since Rennie is an identical twin, she is in as much danger as her sister. Jerret Sullivan is hired to protect Rennie.

Although Rennie wasnt thrilled to marry Hollis (and each member of her family was against it), she pitched a fit when Jerret interfered. Both Rennie and Jerret are very likeable characters, as are all of the members of this extensive family. Its a joy to watch them interact.

The enormously wealthy Jay Mac has had all five of the Dennehy sisters out-of-wedlock. He has not been stigmatized by this but his mistress (of 25 years) and her daughters have been ostracized from polite society. Jay Mac becomes a major part of the second half of this book; he is quite a character!

Everything about this story was wonderful; the character development, pacing of the story and plot lines were entertaining. A joy to read!

They said her father was dead, but Rennie Dennehy refused to believe that. Rennie heads to the wilds of Colorado and the only man who could help her. Bounty hunter Jarret Sullivan was a rogue with a smile as infuriating as it was irresistible.
