The story in The Rom-Commers matches its bright and energetic cover. I liked the audiobook narrated by Patti Murin, who's becoming the voice of Katherine Center novels in my brain.

Emma and Charlie are screenwriters. She's an âexpert' on romantic comedies but is struggling to get her first big break. He's an award-winning writer of action movie scripts who's venturing into writing a rom-com. When Emma's ex-boyfriend/agent arranges for her to collaborate with Charlie (without his knowledge), their working relationship has a rocky start. Can Emma chip through Charlie's arrogant attitude and link to his fame to create a script that launches her career?

I really enjoyed this contemporary romance with the enemies to lovers and forced proximity tropes. It's fun without being ridiculous (which I disliked about Hello Stranger) and the characters have chemistry and also heart and depth. I admired Emma's dedication as her father's caregiver and also the ways everyone flourished when she allowed others to be involved. It took me awhile to warm to Charlie and his personality, but I loved him for Emma by the end.

Thank you to St. Martin's Press and Macmillan Audio for the review copies of this fun novel.
