Prince of Shadows by Rachel Caine circles around the story of Romeo and Juliet. Loved the this delightful thief known as the Prince of Shadows who steals and plays tricks on those who mistreat his friends. Most often his activiites focus on the Capulets, enemies of the Mongagues in which he is a minor memter. Yet the story of Ben and his romance is delightful. Three friends, Romeo, Mercutio, and Ben delight in antagonizing the Capulets. Of course, we know that Romeo falls in love with Juliet but Ben also falls for a Capulet, the lovely Rosaline who is destined to become a nun. Also finished an ebook titled The Romany Princess which I could not find in pbs listings. It's the story of a 100-year-old woman who tells her niece about her family. The tale is that of living in poverty and the lives and conflicts of various family members. Totally enjoyed the tale Bess weaves about the interactions among family members primarily their mother and the three sisters.
