Two roommates commiserating over their lack of love lives, ER Nurse Claire Harper and Firefighter Graham Scott make a pact. If both of them are still unattached at the age of forty, they will take the next step and become friends with benefits. Claire knows they were just joking, but the idea of getting Graham in her bed does appeal to her. One day Graham is injured in a rock-climbing accident. Claire takes time off to care for Graham after he gets out of the hospital. The close proximity makes the two of them see each other in a different light. But Claire knows she can't let herself fall in love with Graham. He has a dangerous job. Claire refuses to go through the worry and grief her mother went through when her father was killed doing a dangerous job.

I found this contemporary romance on Audible. It was OK; but really has nothing new or original in the story. As soon as Claire told her friend that she could never have a relationship with a guy who had a dangerous job, it was easy to see where the story would take us. My rating: 2.5 Stars.
