Part truth/part fiction about an Irish Catholic baby who is orphaned and ends up being raised Amish. Rich account of Amish life!

I had some trouble getting into this book, the Irish brogue of the early characters was a bit much to take. But once it became a book about the Amish, I became totally involved in the story. I don't think I could ever be Amish, I don't have the energy!

Rosanna was born to a Catholic family, but out of necessity was adopted by a single Amish woman. The book was written by Rosanna's grandson, thus is written by an Amishman. The reader gets an insider's view of the Amish society. I recommend it to anyone who wants to learn about these people and their customs.
