Turn Back....save yourself a headache! I had to stop half way through this trash for a breath of fresh air. I kept hoping this elaborate story would be worth my invested time. There was an intriging plot here, but it got lost in flashbacks. Beautiful packaging masks the ugly guts of this page burner.

Written by an Australian, the use of English is a bit different then from here in the USA, so you have to pay attention. I thought the book was well thought out with a good premise.

The focus of the book is spiritual enlightenment vs religious dogma. The fanaticism comes from 'Christian Zionists' attempting to force "their" Revelation prophecy by whatever means necessary using descendants of John Dee, with ties to William Shakespeare (and others) and unlocking 17 generations of secrets and riddles.

Overall a good read.

Overall, a thought-provoking book. I wasnt quite sure what to expect since the only description on the back of the book reads "A mystical fiction debut that takes readers on a romantic journey from Elizabethan England to modern-day London, where a centuries-old secret awaits."

The beginning of the book was a little more difficult to get into because the Author was telling stories from 2 different time periods. But once I got into the story a little further...I wanted to find out about the secret. At times, I felt like the Author was giving an overload of history.

Very interesting book from both plot and history point of view. I was interested in learning more about John Dee, and I'm a sucker for anything set in England, as well as a book with some mystery in it. I was a little skeptical as to whether I would really like it but gave it a go, and ended up being captivated and brought along a fascinating journey. It made me want to learn even more about John Dee and Elizabethan England's belief systems.
