The 1st book in this series was enough to make me continue on to book two. Book two was a great book, very solid. I like that this character is a strong determined person, not dingy, quirky or haphazard. The main topic, organic vs pesticides, was an interesting topic to me, and that topic was informative without being preachy or judgmental. I think one of the greatest quotes from the book was "any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind", by John Donne. To me it is the best motive for a character wanting to find the murder.

But as a cozy reader will you like it? YES? Now on to book 3.

I really enjoyed this book. Learned a lot about apples and refurbishing turn of the century homes. That is why I like cozy mysteries, you learn things you don't in just run of the mill mysteries. Some yummy sounding apple recipes too.

I did not like this book. I enjoyed the first few chapters, as the characters were introduced and the scene was set, but then the apples starting rolling downhill from there. The murder/mystery itself was OK, but like 50% of the book tells about the main character learning about her new farm and learning how to run an orchard and all of the zillion things she needs to learn. I like to learn a little something about the topic in a "cozy" but this gave me way more than I would ever want to know. BORING. I had to skim through the last two thirds just to get to the end. I will not be reading another one in this series for sure.
