This book seemed a bit drawn out to me as it takes place over a period of 8 years. It was still a good read, loved the little British side to it, though they made the Queen seem like a snob and a "witch" which I highly doubt she's really that bad. Some questions were left unanswered which leaves this book open to a sequel which I would read if it comes out.
Prince Nicholas of Wales, while a student at Oxford, meets Rebecca "Bex" Porter, an American exchange student. They fall in love, have a hidden secret romance for 4 years, have a fight and break up, then get back together 2 years later. When they get back together their relationship is public and she is being groomed for her next position as part of the Firm. They get engaged and the book ends 8 years later on the eve of the royal wedding. Lots of facts loosely based on William and Kate. You know where the story is going but there is lots of drama along the way - their relationship, will they go public? will they get back together, their relationship with his brother and her sister, their relationship with their very closely held group of friends, will Bex survive the paparazzi, will she survive Duchess training, etc. Good story. Ends right before the wedding and with a blackmailing scandal brewing. But they are in love and looks like they will make it. Good romance read.
